biennial | abraham cruzvillegas: at the orobie biennial

Thinking Like a Mountain – The Orobie Biennial marks the fifth and final cycle of the GAMeC program. The project engages local communities with the participation of international artists, including Abraham Cruzvillegas.

Abraham Cruzvillegas presents a site-specific installation in the outdoor areas of the Fondazione Dalmine, entitled An unstable and precarious self-portrait munching some traditional Fritos, sipping a couple of caballitos of Casa Dragones, after a busy journey with some dear friends, listening at the same time to the "Clair de lune", performed by Menahem Pressler, and ‘Folie à Deux’, by Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta. Collaborating with local associations, the project takes the form of a participatory experience. The work, made from everyday objects and waste materials sourced locally, explores—often ironically—the notions of progress linked to the industrial imaginary.

During the inauguration on October 18, 2025, at 4 pm, musician and performer Dudù Kouate will activate the sculpture.
