We are pleased to announce Alexander Ferrando as the director of kurimanzutto in New York. He joined our team in May to oversee the construction of our new home in Chelsea. Alexander not only leads operations in New York, but also plays an integral role in shaping the gallery’s activities worldwide. His leadership at kurimanzutto is informed by more than a decade of experience at Metro Pictures, where he worked closely and thoughtfully with artists to realize various projects and promote their work. Additionally, he ran 83 Pitt Street on New York’s Lower East Side from 2014-2017. There he programmed exhibitions, performances, and screenings in close collaboration with artists, curators, and galleries he invited to use the storefront space. He is on the board of OCDChinatown, a nonprofit exhibition space in Lower Manhattan focused on the presentation of queer artists. He holds a master's degree from the Akademie der bildenden Künste Vienna and a bachelor's from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
