On the occasion of the exhibition Ming Fay: Midnite Porridge at kurimanzutto New York, the gallery presents a live conversation about Fay’s artistic legacy between Eugenie Tsai & John Yau, moderated by José Esparza Chong Cuy.
The conversation is the twelfth chapter of the FUTURE DIALOGUES series, hosted by kurimanzutto with the support of Casa Dragones and Aeroméxico.
Eugenie Tsai is a curator and writer based in New York. Over the years, she has held curatorial positions at the Whitney Museum of American Art and the Brooklyn Museum, as well as working independently. Tsai received her doctorate in Art History from Columbia University and was an early member of the collective Godzilla: Asian American Art Network.
John Yau is a poet, critic, curator, based in New York, publisher of Black Square Editions, which is dedicated to poetry, fiction, translation, and essays. He is an editor of the online magazine, Hyperallergic Weekend.
José Esparza Chong Cuy works as Executive Director and Chief Curator at Storefront for Art and Architecture. From 2019–2025 he was also a part of the curatorial council of the Museo Tamayo in Mexico City. Prior to arriving at Storefront in 2018, he was Associate Curator at the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago and the Museo Jumex in Mexico City.
