La Discipula del Velocimetro, Miguel Calderón new video by Miguel Calderón "Prospectif cinéma 2008- 2009" september 25 | 8 p.m. 6€ / 4€ This cycle has been programmed by the Service of Contemporary Creation and Prospective from the National Museum of Modern Art. It presents the cinematographic production from young artists (from France and abroad) every Thursday with the presence of the guest artist. The Disciple of Speed is the artist’s first feature film and it has not been presented before. The film is a portrait of Emma, a Mexican millionaire who, in spite of having a nice life, is prone to extreme experiences, which lead her to become a racing car pilot. Her family life and her fascination for danger should conciliate in the film. Via Emma and her peculiar personality, Calderon shows that reality – even if it is exaggerated or transformed – always surpasses fiction.
