It is an honor for kurimanzutto gallery to present Apichatpong Weerasethakul as our new artist.
The 2010 activity program begins with Carlos Amorales’ solo show, carried out expressly for this space. In the month of May, Abraham Cruzvillegas will carry out a scenic event, turning the gallery, for some days, into a stage. During July we will have the curator Jens Hoffman as our guest, who will gather a group of Latin-American emerging artists in the exhibit “Panamerica”. To conclude, through November we will have the first exhibition by Allora and Calzadilla in kurimanzutto.
Among the individual exhibits abroad we have the retrospective on Gabriel Orozco in the MOMA, which will then travel to the Kunstmuseum Basel (April), the Centre Georges Pompidou (September) and the Tate Gallery (January, 2011). Rirkrit Tiravanija presents “Ne travaillez jamais” in the Tang Contemporary Art in Beijing. Dr. Lakra will have an exhibit in the The Institute of Contemporary Art in Boston, as well as in the Drawing Center in New York, while Damián Ortega will have an exhibit in the Barbican Center, London. In turn, Gabriel Kuri will have, throughout the year, four individual exhibitions in the Museion de Arte Moderna in Bolzano (Italy), Kunstverein Freiburg (Germany), The Art Museum of the University of Houston, and the Kunstverein Bielefeld (Germany).
